However, it is heavens gain and our loss. I met Mr. Bennett when he came to this district and he was a very humble man of God. It is my prayer that God provides this family with peace and strength they need during this time of Bereavement.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. One of the most difficult things we have to deal with is the death of a loved one. Revelation 21:4 assures us; "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things has passed away." The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will be brought back to life. I hope this message will offer comfort in your time of sadness.

While I am sadden to learn that you’re mourning the loss of your beloved Bennie, it saddens our loving God even more. No doubt, you have many fond memories which will resurface from time to time. And because you do have memories, certainly shows that almighty God has memories as well. Therefore, with full confidence you can take comfort in His word which shows that He longs to restore life to all those in His memory (John 5: 28, 29, Job 14:13-15). Besides from the encouraging messages at this site, you will also find a wealth of faith strengthening support at www.jw.org. Please accept my condolences at this most distressing time.

He always had an encouraging word for others, made people smile and laugh and was an inspiration to his teammates. The leadership he displayed on the court was the beginning of a very successful career as an educator and mentor. Dear Family,
As a graduate of Clover High School, I have many fond memories of Mr. Bennett. I always admired the way he acted in such a professional manner. Being an educator myself I often wonder what impact I'm having on my students and what kind of legacy I will leave. Mr. Bennett left a lasting impression on many and his legacy will be remembered for years to come. I'm sure everyone that he met aspired to be the kind of leader he was - ethical, fair, and understanding. Find peace in knowing he is with God and is now an angel watching over you. Praying for comfort and peace!

Frankie, Brittany, Kelly, and family,
I was so shocked to learn of Bennie's tragic and untimely death! I have many fond memories of him during the years we worked together at Clover High School, and I was so happy that he was named Supt. of Newberry County Schools 10 years ago, since Newberry was my home and I had worked at Newberry High School before moving to Clover. I knew he would do an outstanding job leading the Newberry Schools, and I am just so saddened that he is now gone from all of us who loved him so much. May God bless and comfort all of you at this difficult time of loss as he is now in his Heavenly Home.
Sincerely,
James G. Long

Where do I begin. I never saw Bennie when he wasn't smiling. He always greeted me and my family in the most cordial way. Our paths crossed many times and it was always pleasant. I knew he appreciated what we tried to do for the district and his appreciation was evident. While we go back to his Newberry College basketball days and his departure to Winthrop, one of the things I will miss most are his visits into the radio booth at Newberry High football games on Friday night. I may have been on the air but that smile and wave to say hello was always appreciated and welcomed. Prayers to all of you and RIP Bennie!
