Benjamin Wayne Counts

Mr. Benjamin Wayne Counts was born on January 27, 1963 in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Thomas “Nook” Counts and Mildred Ruth Counts. He entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday November 27, 2022 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Benny, as he was affectionately known was a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School. He was employed in the Food Service Division at Newberry College for a number of years before going to work at Ronnie's Restaurant where he was respected by co-workers and fondly known by many customers. Benny was an avid lover of baseball and played locally throughout the community.

He is predeceased by his sister, Peggy Ann Counts, his brothers Thomas Randy Counts and Sylvester Olin “VeeVess”Counts. He is also predeceased by his niece, April Bickley.

Benny is survived by his brother David Counts of Laurens, his nieces: Alisa Gale Bivines of Anderson, Carolyn Bivines of Pomaria, Jacqueline C. Jenkins (Richard) of Saluda, Allison Kay Counts (John) of Arizona, Brandy Counts of Little Mountain and Shayla Herbert (Calvin) of Prosperity, sister-in-law, Donna Counts, several great nieces, nephews and a host of community friends.

Memorial Services will held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 1:00PM at  Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel 601 South Street, Newberry, South Carolina 29108
