Azalee Herbert

Funeral services for Ms. Azalee Herbert, age 77, will be conducted on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Hannah A. M. E. Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Ms. Herbert passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at her home.  Born in Prosperity, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Allen Frank Herbert and the late Virginia Hare Herbert.  She was a member of Hannah A. M. E. Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir and the Pulpit Aide.  She was also a member of Women's Home Aide Society #59.  Ms. Herbert retired from Louis Rich. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her family and planting flowers.

Ms. Herbert was predeceased by brothers Virnelson Herbert and Allen Adam Herbert.

Surviving are five daughters, Barbara F. Herbert of Newberry, SC; Sabrina Herbert of Maryland; Johnette Gary (Switzerland), Stacy Herbert and Tracy Boyd (Frederick) all of Newberry, SC; three sisters, Mary A. Bookman of Clinton, SC; Betty J. ( Kenneth) Lyles of Pomaria, SC; Thelma L. Herbert of Lexington, SC; six brothers, James Frank Herbert and John Earl Herbert (Debra) of Prosperity, SC; Mike Ray Herbert, Raymond Kenny Herbert (Linda), Paul Herbert (Beverly) and Calvin Herbert all of Newberry, SC; four grandchildren, Akeem Gary, Jemerio Gary, Shikeria Henderson and Jamaal Boyd; one great-grandson, Kai Lewis Dean,  devoted nieces; Pasty Clark, Deborah Ruff and Tommie Herebert a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
