Alecia (Neal) Johnson

Ms. Alecia Neal Johnson, age 55, died at Newberry County Memorial Hospital after a terminal ill diagnosis.

She was born on March 4, 1965 in Newberry County, SC to the late Willie James and Daisy Mae Neal. She was employed with Days Inn by Wyndham until her health began to decline. 

Ms. Johnson was predeceased by her daughter Takeela Colleen Neal, sisters Mary Florence Neal and Thomasina Neal-Griffin-Kirkland, and a brother Freddie Lee Neal. 

Survivors include two sons, Terrance Jovan Johnson and Akeeves Neal of Newberry, seven brothers, James Heyward, Bennie (Geneva), Johnny, Jimmie (Kristie), Richard (Debra), and Calvin Bernard Neal (Carissa) all of Newberry, SC and Jacob Neal (Donna) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; five sisters, Barbara Neal Swittenburg, Bessie Neal Hill, Genovia Neal, and Pamela Neal Randolph (Curtis) all of Newberry, SC and Rev. Carolyn Neal of Lexington, SC; four grandchildren, Nakenya Colleen Neal, Alaina Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, and Gabe Neal all of Newberry; three uncles, two aunts, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law; former husband George Johnson, Jr.; and companion Videl Dawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 11:00 at the Pratt Funeral Home Chapel for her immediate family only. All in attendance are asked to wear a mask or face covering and to practice social distancing.  A public viewing will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
