Willie Mae (Rutherford) Wise

Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Mae Rutherford Wise, age 79, will be conducted on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Miller Chapel AME Church.  Burial will follow in St. Matthew AME Church cemetery.

Mrs. Wise passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at her home.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Griffin Henderson and the late A. C. Rutherford and step-daughter of the late Peter Henderson.  Mrs. Wise was member of St. Matthew AME Church where she served on the Usher Board, Steward Board, Women's Missionary and Mother of the Church.  She was also a member of Women's Home Aid Society #92.

Mrs. Wise was predeceased by her husband, George E. Wise, Sr.; two daughters, Sherrylene McBride and Stacy Harmon; granddaughter, Corvette Lindler and son-in-law, David McBride.

Surviving are daughters Sandra Lindler (Kenny) and Greta R. Young (Tyrone) of Newberry, SC; Kim Tribble (Rodjacob) of Clinton, SC; sons, Terry Wise and George E. Wise, Jr. (Sharon) of Newberry, SC; sisters, Barbara Rutherford of Newberry, SC; Darlene Miles (Kelvin) of Easley, SC; Rebecca McDuffie of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Luther Rutherford (Maxine) of Silverstreet, SC; Timothy Rutherford (Sheldy), Eddie Rutherford (Mary) and Willie Clarence Rutherford all of Newberry, SC; Elliott Rutherford (Janet) of Anderson, SC; Johnny Rutherford (Saundra) of Greenville, SC; Jimmy Rutherford (Carmen) of Springfield, MA; Shellwood Rutherford of Newberry, SC; Brady Rutherford of Brooklyn, NY and Norman Rutherford (Cinderella) of Fountain Inn, SC; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; God daughter, Patsy Mendenhall; sister-in-law, Ethelene Toland of Prosperity, SC; brothers-in-law, Moses Wise (Mildred) of Prosperity, SC; Colie Wise of Detroit, MI; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
