Willie Jefferson Chalmers, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie J. Chalmers, Sr., age 73, will be conducted on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Old Beaverdam Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to funeral service.

Mr. Chalmers passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Newberry, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Charlie Y. J. Chalmers and the late Lou Amy Davis Chalmers.  Mr. Chalmers was a member of Old Beaverdam Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family laughing and talking.

Mr. Chalmers was predeceased by his wife, Mary Helen Gary Chalmers.

Surviving are daughters, Mary Louise (Johnny) Pulley of Gray Court, SC; Kathy (Joseph) Calhoun of Newberry, SC; Theresa (Derwin) Kinard of Clinton, SC; Susan Harmon of Newberry, SC; son, Willie Jefferson Chalmers, Jr. of Clinton, SC; sisters, Lula Mae Counts, Elnora Booker, Annie Pearl (Joseph) McMorris and Wanda Faye Pratt all of Newberry, SC; brothers, Nathaniel Chalmers of Greenville, SC; Henry Wallace Chalmers, Sr. of Clinton, SC; Pervis (Francine) Chalmers of Newberry, SC; Freddie Lee (Erica) Chalmers of Little Mountain, SC; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
