Thomas Hair, Jr.

Memorial services for Mr. Thomas Hair, Jr. will be conducted on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Mr. Hair passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at White Oak Manor-Newberry.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Thomas Hair, Sr. and the late Viola Mendenhall Hair. 

Mr. Hair was a 1953 graduate of Gallman High School and after graduation enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 20 years.  After retirement he went into his father's business as a Taxi Cab Driver for Hair's Taxi Service.  He attended Piedmont Technical College for two years.  In his later years he began to study the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and loved attending Christian meetings when his health allowed him to.

Mr. Hair was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He loved working with his hands and did leather work including wallets, purses etc.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years Delossie Thurman Hair; children, Gerald Mitchell of White Plains, NY; Russell Dale Hair of Columbia, SC; Donna H. Gore (Dwayne) of Columbia, SC; Leonard Hair (Operdelia) of St. Lucia, West Indies; brother, Calvin Sims of Newberry, SC; grandchildren, Syreeta Wigginton (Evol) of Atlanta, GA; Lance Williams of Columbia, SC; great-grandchildren, Anastacia and Caleb Willliams; Fallon, Parker and Peyton Wiggington; brothers-in-law, James Yeoman of Washington, DC; Gene Thurman of Raleigh, NC; sister-in-law, Gret Parker of Petersburg, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
