Sharon Cheek

Funeral services for Ms. Sharon Cheek, age 53, will be conducted on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.

Ms. Cheek passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Obie Hare, Sr. and the late Dorothy Clement Gary-Cheek.  Ms. Cheek was a member of Teach the Word International Prison Ministry.  She was a graduate of Newberry High School and Piedmont Technical College.

Ms. Cheek was predeceased by a sister, Everleen Cheek Hall, brother, Calvin Hare and step-sister, Bonnie Nance.

Surviving are a daughter, Ashley Cheek; son, Travis Long; sisters Gwendolyn (Bonnie) Gary Cole of Cayce, SC; Debra Cheek (Weldon) Love of Lawton, OK; Linda Cheek-Hall of Newberry, SC; Desi Hare of Thomasville, NC; Sylvia Bias Greenwood of Philadelphia, PA; brothers, Partick Hare and Obie Hare, Jr. of Salisbury, NC; three step-sisters, Katie (Bobby) Pole of Thomasville, NC; Connie Caldwell of Ilionois, Tia Hare of High Point, NC; step-brother, Lee Hare of High Point, NC; grandsons, Isareal and Izaya Cooper, Imaurian and Ijavion Cheek; Tristian Long; granddaughter, Kaylin Long; devoted nieces, Dorothy and Tameka Cheek; Shenice Hall; devoted nephew, Jermaine Cheek; nine aunts, three uncles, one sister-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
