Roger "Dusty Rhodes" Coleman

Funeral services for Mr. Roger  Coleman, affectionately known by family and friends as "Dusty Rhodes." will be conducted on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove AME Church.  Burial will follow in church cemetery.

Mr. Coleman passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Greer Memorial Hospital.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Johnson Coleman, Sr. and the late Jessie Mae Rutherford Coleman.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove AME Church.  Mr. Coleman was employed with Georgia Pacific for over seventeen years and ISE for over thirteen years.

Mr. Coleman was predeceased by siblings, Henry L. Coleman, Sarah Coleman, Juanita Hare, Carrie Lee Coleman and Johnson "Buddy" Coleman, Jr..

Mr. Coleman had a big smile and heart and would give candy to those he met. He would give to those in need, if it be food or a ride.  Mr. Coleman enjoyed fishing,  listing to music, dancing and cooking out with family and friends.

Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly Young of Jenkinsville, SC; son, Roger Coleman, Jr. of Sumter, SC; sisters, Georgia Mae (James) Caldwell, Dorothy Lisster, Ida Mae Williams (Sammie), a devoted sister, Lillia C. Maybin (Calvin Davis) and Eloise Coleman all of Newberry, SC; nine grandchildren,  caregiver, Teresa Maybin; a son-in-law; devoted friends, Ruby L. Gallman, Ricky Caughman, Thomas Lyles and Mike Taylor; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
