Robert "Beat" Alexander

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Alexander, age 62, affectionately known as "Beat", will be conducted on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah AME Church cemetery.

His life journey began on August 10, 1956 in Newberry, South Carolina.  He was born to the late Geneva and Daniel Alexander, Sr.  Mr. Alexander transitioned into life on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. 

After graduating from high school, he worked at Shakepeare Composite Structures and later started his own business in lawn care services.  This became his passion.  He was professional, detailed and always wanted to make sure his customers were happy with his work.  Robert lived a very simple yet fulfilling life. 

Mr. Alexander was predeceased by two sisters, Judith Martin and Sarah Werts; one brother, Terry Alexander.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, DeVona Jaworski (DJ) Boyd of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Shirley Alexander and Brenda Alexander, both of Newberry, SC; two brothers, Daniel Alexander Jr. of Newberry, SC and Randy Alexander of New Orleans, LA; one aunt, Ade Hare; two uncles, Milton Hare and Horace (Betty) Hare; sister-in-law, Jannell Alexander; brother-in-law, Forest Werts Jr. both of Newberry, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special acknowledgment to the staff of At Home Senior Care who became family as they provided care for several years.
