Melvina (Shephard) Cain

A light from our family is gone a voice we loved is stilled a place is vacant in the home which never can be filled. We have to mourn the loss of one we would've loved to keep but God who surely loved her best has finally made her sleep. After a lifetime of her love and joy and music to fill our ears God leaves these wondrous memories to help us through our tears.

Funeral services for Mrs. Melvina L. Cain will be conducted on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Chapin, SC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie Shephard.  Mrs. Cain was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Chapin, SC.  She was a graduate of Benedict College.

Mrs. Cain was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Cain; children, Barry, Bobby and Victor Cain; brothers A. J. and Pervis Shephard.

Surviving are daughters, Sylvia Cain and Jessie Holland both of Brooklyn, NY; sons, Alfred Cain of Brooklyn, NY, Anthony Cain of Queens, NY, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, other relatives and friends.
