Lillie Mae (Ruff) Sims

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Mae Sims, age 96, will be conducted on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove AME Church.  Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Sims was called to God's Glorious Kingdom on Friday, July 6, 2018 at White Oak Manor.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Sam Ruff and the late Fannie Gray Ruff. 

She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove AME Church where she was a member of the Missionary Society and the oldest Mother of the Church.  She retired as a beautician from Lawson's Hair Salon in New Rochelle, NY.

Mrs. Sims was predeceased by her husband, Marion Sims and God son, Michael Lietzsey.

Surviving are her sister, Barbara Lietzsey; brothers, Claude Ruff (Edith) and Thomas Ruff; God son, Tony Cannon (Barbara) all of Newberry, SC; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
