Welcome to the memorial page for

Jonathan "Doc" Williams

July 10, 1951 ~ December 29, 2018 (age 67) 67 Years Old

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 3:00 PM at 253 Breezy Hill Trail in Newberry, SC.

Mr. Jonathan ‘Doc’ Williams was born on July 10, 1951, in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Reverend Bennie Walter Williams Sr. and the late Rosa Mae Lott Williams. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at his home in Rock Hill, SC leaving his wife, Damaris McClain-Williams with loving memories.

Mr. Williams was educated in the Newberry County Public School system.  He retired from Bellsouth after 30 years of service. He continued with many entrepreneurial adventures throughout his life.  From restaurants, to clubs, to carpentry Doc Williams was indeed a jack of all trades and master of it all. In the kitchen and on the grill, he would keep you coming for more of his special chili and Doc Burgers. Doc Williams was well-known and admired for his continuous love and help throughout his family and the community.  He loved to travel. He loved connecting with people and always found the beauty in those he encountered.

Doc Williams had many relationship titles: A husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin. He found a unique way to tailor each relationship in a way that made one feel that he/she mattered. His mentorship made him the father-figure to so many that esteem him so greatly.

The void of his presence is great, but the rock-solid legacy of the love of family and relationship will transcend generations. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Daniel, Leroy, Sophia Kimble, Irene Patterson, Choicie, Bennie, Roslyn, Ella Mae Ellis and Arnold Williams.

In addition to his loving and devoted wife, Demaris, Doc Williams leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jonathan Carver (Janishia) Williams and his daughter, Andrea Manning Williams of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Hattie Murray of Philadelphia, PA, Martha Thomas and Barbara Jean Williams both of Newberry, SC; brothers, Tarrance Williams (Denise) of Batesburg, SC, James Williams (Brenda) and Benjamin Williams (Rubie) both of Newberry, SC; two grandsons, Daniel Lin and Jonathan David; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many more that were as family.
