To the family of John Chalmers, my sincere condolences for the lost of your father. I just heard about it tonight, so sadly, I was not able to comfort you during this period of time. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with the family. May you find peace and comfort knowing that he is with his friend and brother Fred Rogers in their heavenly home.

There are no words to say to make this easy for the family, so permit me to say through the years I have had joy of calling and talking to him. I am an Eastern Star and was chairperson of our Sick and Distress committee. Bro Chalmers would say you start getting old your health change and I would stop him saying we have well seasoned members never old and we would laugh together. He's at rest no more pain and no more doctors. Thank you for sharing him with us. Redemption Chapter and I will keep the family in our prayers. To the Family ,
I would like to express how sorry to hear of your loss. I recently lost my father. The pain of losing a loved one is a pain that seemingly never goes away. However, the pain can lessen when we think of what God has promised to do for us.
At 2 Cor 1:3,4 the Bible states: "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
What comfort does he provide us? First of all, at 1 Cor 15:26 it says: "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." So God views death as an enemy and will eventually remove death.
Secondly, Jesus gave us hope when at John 11:25 he said: "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:" So there is a chance to see our loved ones again under better conditions.
This comfort from the Bible has helped me in dealing with the loss of my father and I hope it will help your family to some degree with your loss.
