Funeral services for Mr. Jackie Marquise Crooks, Jr., age 31, will be conducted on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Crooks passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his home.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of Jackie  Crooks, Sr. and Melissa Alice Hare.  He attended Newberry County Public Schools.

Mr. Crooks was predeceased by a brother, Jamar Crooks; his maternal grandparents, Hattie Rose Hair-Wilson, Willie Brown; paternal grandparents, Martha Taylor, Essie Mae Brooks; Jerry Hutcherson; uncle, Calvin Hare.

Surviving are his mother, Melissa A. Hare; father, Jackie V. Crooks, Sr.; sister, Arnancia Miller (Justin Lasoya) of Lexington, SC; aunts, Angela Hare of Prosperity, SC; Sandra Jones of Newberry, SC; Barbara Russell of Augusta, GA; Carrie Hartsfield of Phila., PA; Zula Satton of Augusta, GA; uncles, Harrison Hare of Prosperity, SC; Terrence Hare of Columbia, SC; Jamie Brown of Newberry, SC; Travis Wilson of Spartanburg, SC; Goree Wilson of Columbia, SC; nephew, Justin B.
