Funeral services for Mr. George Floyd Price, age 87, will be conducted on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Flint Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Price passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Spencer Price and the late Julia Sligh Price.

Mr. Price was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Superintendent of the Sunday School and a member of the Mt. Zion Jubilee Choir.  Mr. Price was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Price was predeceased by his former wife, Shirley Hall Price; grandson, Tony Bernard Price; sisters, Adell Price, Donzell Price Swittenburg, Elnora Price Brice, Annette Price Huntley, Sara Price Outza, Shirley Price Thacker, Willie Mae Price Gilliam and Martha Price McCullough; brothers, Spencer, Joseph, Frank and Sim Price; nieces, Julia A. Tribble and Margaret Price, nephews, Alvin and Ronald Price; mother-in-law, Winnie Mae Davis Hall and father-in-law, Benson H. Hall;sisters-in-law, Elease Heller and Bernice Hall. Brothers-in-laws James Glenn, Butch Gilliam, Willie Robert Brice and James Bowers.

Surviving are two daugthters, Helen Ruth Morris of Jersey City, NJ; Takeela Ann Agnew; three sons, Dexter A. Price (Geraldine), Dennis F. Price (Sylvia) and Douglas A. Price (Wyonne) all of Newberry, SC; sisters, Julia Mae Glenn of Buffalo, NY and Mary Louise Price; ten grandchildren, including devoted grandsons, Demario Agnew, Dexter A. Price, Jr., Zachary Curry, Paxton Epps and Douglas A. Price, Jr.; devoted granddaughter, Lashonda Agnew,  Winderlyn Gallman, Nichol Ruff and Tiffany Morris thirteen, great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, a number of nieces including devoted niece, Lucretia Nance; nephews, one son-in-law, sisters-in-law, Ida Mae Price, Thelma Price, Jerlean Coleman, Hazel Hall and Doris Bowers; brothers-in-law, Joseph Outzs, Henry Hall, Bobby Coleman, Sim Heller, James Glenn, Butch Gilliam, James Bowers and Clarence Thacker; friend, Elizabeth Johnson, caregivers, Brenda Werts and James Williams; MSA Hospice Staff.
