Funeral services for Mr. Freddie Cedell Houseal, Sr, age 76, will be conducted on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in St. Paul AME Church cemetery.
Mr. Houseal entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was born in Newberry, S.C. on February 25, 1942, to Mrs. Willie L. Houseal and the late Mr. Fred Houseal.
Mr. Houseal was a God-fearing man that loved to sing and was a faithful member and Steward of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He was also a member of the Sons of Allen, Son's of Aid and President of the Connectional Lay Chapter of the Newberry District. He was educated at Austin High School in Knoxville, T.N. and retired from Eagle Construction Company after 36 years of service.
Freddie leaves a legacy of being a loving husband, devoted son, wonderful father, caring grandfather, and mentor to all he knew. He was loved greatly by his family, friends, co-workers and everyone he knew. He, in turn, gave back that love twofold.
He was preceded by his son, John Timothy Houseal; brothers, Robert J. Houseal, Clifton Houseal, Sr. and James Glenn Houseal; sisters, Ernestine Houseal and Dorothy Houseal.
Freddie leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, his beloved wife, Dorothy Hunter Houseal; mother, Mrs. Willie L. Houseal; five children, Kimberly Houseal Spearman of Dearborn, M.I., Marquitta Hunter of Washington, D.C., Cory Vance of Albany, N.Y., Yolanda (Christopher) Davenport of Newberry, SC, Dr. Delia (Slade) Houseal-Smith of Washington, D.C., Freddie C. Houseal, Jr.; one sister, Nina (Greg) Bowers of Little Mountain, S.C.; two brothers Beamon Boyd of Irmo, S.C. and Clifton (Janice) Houseal, Jr.; twenty-one (21) grandchildren, five (5) of which were reared in the home, Lorenzo Jones, Clarissa Wise, Kiera Williams, Darius Williams and Jamillia Houseal; and six (6) great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Mr. Alonzo Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
