Fred Junior Benson

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Junior Benson, age 76, will be conducted on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Benson passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Eugene "Bud"  Benson and the late Mamie Benson. Step- Mother Mary Ford Benson.

He was a former employee of Dickert Lumber Company.

Mr. Benson was predeceased by sisters, Rose Lee Benson and Freddie Lee Benson Dawkins(twin sister); a granddaughter, Alexis LaShay White and great grand  Armon Daquan Wright.

Surviving are his children, Barbara J. Benson, of Newberry, SC; Angela (Bryant) Gilmore of Chapin, SC; Annette (James) Darby, Felicia (Dave) Coleman, all of Newberry, SC; Tasha Benson of Columbia, SC who was his caregiver for the last twelve years; son,  Fredericia  Wicker of Atlanta, Ga; sister, MaEdna Smith of Newberry, SC; 14 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
