Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Mae Sims Glymph , age 79, will be conducted on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Glymph passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Providence Hospital.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of  the late J.C. Sims, Sr. and the late Essie Cook Sims.

She was the third oldest child of seven children. Fannie Mae was known to be the “Heart” of the family. She loved cooking and everyone enjoyed her food and her infamous sweet potato pie and red velvet cake. She loved and cherished spending time with her family, her two daughters (Barbara and Brenda), her best friend and sister, Ruth, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and friends. She was a member of Pleasant Grove AME church. She was employed for many years at American Fiber & Finishing as a Textile Weaver upon her retirement.

She was predeceased by her husband, Freddie Lee Glymph; brothers, J.C. Sims, Jr., Willie James Sims, Freddie Lee Sims and Robert Sims, and sister, Estelle Sims Penney.

Surviving are her dedicated and loving daughters, Barbara Wheeler and Brenda Maybin both of Newberry, South Carolina; sister, Ruth Sims of Newberry, South Carolina;  grandchildren, Mark Anthony (Terricka) Glymph of Newberry, South Carolina, Robert (Jameka) Glymph of Newberry, SC, Alisha (Brandon) Pitts of Charlotte, North Carolina, Bryant Glymph of Newberry, South Carolina, and Shaneka (William) Green of Charlotte, North Carolina; five precious great-grandchildren, Brianna and Robert (RJ) Glymph, Evan and Lauryn Pitts and Jordan Green; five devoted nieces , Magnolia Nance, Mischele Trapp, Linda Kaye Suber, Geraldine Kibler and Barbara Maffett; three devoted nephews, Willie Sims, Jr., Melvin Sims and Calvin Sims; sisters-in-law, Nora Lee Sims, Estheree Anderson, Sarah Glasgow, Mary Byrd, Evelyn Ruth Marshall; host of other nieces and nephews, other relatives and close friends.
