Emma Julia (Gallman) Herbert

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Julia Herbert, age 75, will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Hannah AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Herbert passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at White Oak Manor-Newberry.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Bennie Ray Gallman and the late Mrs. Mary Cannon Gallman.

Mrs. Herbert was a member of Hannah A. M. E. Church where she was a member of the Usher Board and Senior Choir.

Mrs. Herbert was predeceased by a daughter, Gail Nannette Gallman; brothers, Alfred Ray Gallman and Willie Bates; sisters Aza Lee Gallman and Lula Mae Walker.

Surviving are her husband, Mr. James Frank Herbert; daughter, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Williams; sisters, Mrs. Mary Alice Wise and Mrs. Bessie Lee Dewalt (Willie) all of Prosperity, SC; Mrs. Joann Nelson of Saluda, SC; Mrs. Herbert raised Albert Walker (Cathy) and Heyward Walker (Geraldine); six grandchildren, Annie Mae Gallman, Aime Gallman, Michael D. Gallman, Jermaine Gallman, Sharone Gallman and Marvin Gallman were all reared in the home; thirteen great-grandchildren, devoted great-granddaughter, Tilisha Gallman; aunts, Mrs. Mary Alice Rikard and Ms. Ada Mae Cannon; uncle, Mr. Roosevelt Cannon; devoted friend that never got tired of lifting her, Mr. Quentin McKinney; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins will all miss her dearly.
