Efrem Zimbalist Dawkins

Mr. Efrem Zimbalist Dawkins, age 57, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital.

Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Ulysses Dawkins and the late Freddie Lee Benson Dawkins.  He was a graduate of Newberry High School class of 1980.  Mr. Dawkins furthered his education at Allen University studying Psychology.  He loved all sports.  His favorite football team was the Miami Dolphins.   Growing up he played baseball with the "Red Machine" team.

Cherishing his memory are his wife, Clara Crooks Dawkins; sons, Aaron Epps (Samantha) of Columbia, SC; Trevor Sligh of Newberry, SC; brothers, James Benson of Springfield, IL; Jonathan Leggs Jr. of Buffalo, NY; sisters, Cynthia Terrell (Parris) of Glen Burnie, MD; Aundrea Kinard (Rickey) of Newberry, SC; Patricia Leggs and Jacqueline Leggs both of Buffalo, NY; Yolanda Sims (Antonio) of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, two uncles, three aunts, mother-in-law, Maggie Crooks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will not be a funeral service for Mr. Dawkins.
