Eddie Dawkins

Services for Mr. Eddie Dawkins will be Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Eddie Frank "Champ" Dawkins,  age 75, passed away on April 24, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. 

Mr. Dawkins was born on March 29, 1944 to the late Caldwell Dawkins and the late Maude Dawkins.

Mr. Dawkins was affectionately known as "Champ" and "Leechie" by family and friends.  He was a graduate of Gallman High School Class of 1964.  Mr. Dawkins worked at Winn Dixie and  Food Lion and retired from Bi-lo.

Mr. Dawkins was a mild, sweet and generous person that helped many in their time of need. He had many talents such as painting, plumbing and carpentry.  He was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears.

He was predeceased by a son, Hikeem Griffin; brothers, Marvin, Willie, Talley Dawkins.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Griffin Dawkins; daughters, Donna Faye Shealy, Vonshella Griffin, Sandra Shealy and Felicia Dawkins, all of Newberry, SC; sons, Marcus (Treasea), Griffin, Sherman (Tamika) Griffin, Brent (Alicia) Rhodes,  Andra (Kimya) Rhodes  and Terrell  (Rosa) Dawkins; sisters, Vivian Dawkins, Carolyn (Lewis) Sims and Dallas, Fay (Russell) Suber all of Newberry, SC; brothers, Timothy Dawkins and Videl Dawkins; 28 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; Friend(Companion) Margaret Graham of the home; friend, Harold Earl Goudelock; Godson, Charles Cannon,  5 sisters-in-law; and a host of other family members and friends.
