Diane (Dawkins) Swaney

Memorial services for Mrs. Diane  Dawkins Swaney will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Mrs. Swaney  passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Dawkins and the late Elaine Jones Dawkins. 

She dedicated her life to Jehovah on August 18, 1965 in Jones Beach, NY.  She spent almost 40 years in the full time service.  Her passion was speaking and teaching one about her God Jehovah.  Mrs. Swaney was a seamstress, homemaker and a devoted grandmother.  She was a quiet and mild spirit woman, who loved to garden and plant flowers in her spare time. She also enjoyed singing many things such as country duets with her husband, back up with her sisters, and to her grandchildren.

Mrs. Swaney was predeceased by a sister, Marie Dawkins; brother, Ulysses Dawkins and a granddaughter, Malorie Buttercup Swaney.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, James Henry Swaney; daughters, Kenya Middleton (Anthony) of Greenville, SC; Kashunya Davis (Benny) of Newberry, SC; Krystal Wilson (George) of Simpsonville, SC; son, Kenneth Swaney (Shasta) of Chapin, SC; sisters, Bernice Dawkins of Newberry, SC; Lola Jeter of Carlisle, SC; Sylvia Mosley of Newberry, SC; brothers, Allen Dawkins (Molly) of Silverstreet, SC; Ezra Dawkins (Misty) of Abbeville, SC; Terry Dawkins of Newberry, SC; special daughter, LaTosha Adams of Barnwell, SC; six grandchildren, DeShawn Swaney, JaMicah Davis, Brooklyn Davis, Chaiton Swaney, McKenli Swaney and Ryleigth Wilson; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of spiritual family and friends.
