Funeral Services for Baby De’Mari Taquan Scurry will be conducted Monday, November 11, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at New Covenant Christian Center 2304 Johnstone Street Newberry, SC . Burial will follow in the Werts  Cemetery.

De’Mari Taquan Scurry, son of Derrick Scurry, Jr., and Mekhaia Sims, was born on October 11, 2019, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital in Newberry, SC. He entered into the arms of Jesus on November 6, 2019, at Prisma Health Childrens Hospital in Columbia, SC. In addition to his parents, De’Mari is survived by a sister, RaeLynn Scurry of Newberry, SC; his grandparents, Jonathan and Alishia Williams of Newberry, SC, Derrick Scurry of Rockhill, SC, and Sylvia Scurry of Newberry, SC, Michael Sims of Newberry, SC, and Rotasha Samuels of Blythewood, SC; great-grandparents, Debra Wise and Evone Scurry of Newberry, SC, Lena Mitchell of Blythewood, SC, Robbie Scurry of Girard, GA, William and Thomasina Mayo-Samuels of Columbia, SC, and Catherine B. Samuels of Columbia, SC; great-great-grandmother, Emma Dawkins; six aunts; six uncles; and a host of other family who will miss him dearly.
