Bozzie Yancie Dawkins

Funeral services for Mr. Bozzie Yancie Dawkins, age 88, will be conducted on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Seekwell Baptist Church.  Viewing and visitation will be one hour before funeral service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Dawkins passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Moses Dawkins and the late Bessie Bates Dawkins.  He was a faithful and dedicated member of Seekwell Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for over twenty years, choir member and Deacon Emeritus.  He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #222, the American Heart Association and a sponsor for the American Cancer Society.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Dawkins was an avid gardener and handyman.

Mr. Dawkins was predeceased by brothers, Tony Dawkins and Leroy Dawkins, sister, Hattie Henderson.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Chaplin Dawkins; daughter, Ivorey Ligon (David) of Nashville, TN; sons, Milton Dawkins (Maggie) of Wiesbaden, Germany; A. D. Dawkins (Betty) of Nashville, TN; Clifford Dawkins of Columbia, SC; sisters, Bernice Carwile of Greenville, SC; Louise Jeter of Carlisle, SC; Elizabeth Kingcade of Decatur, GA; brother, Alfred L. Dawkins (Kay) of Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren, Sherita, Themas, Atika(Terrance), Shonda, Shardae(Remirus), Sharvis, Shantavia, Angie (Jerome) and Jermont; seven great-grandchildren, Dayton, Shymari, Shynon, Kalani, Harlem, Aleaha and Jerain; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
