A. L. Lindsay

Funeral services for Mr. A. L. Lindsay, age 76, will be conducted on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lindsay passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Prosperity, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Roscoe Lindsay and the late Vanilla Inez Sims Lindsay.  He attended Mt. Moriah Church School, Rikard Elementary and Gallman High School.

He held several jobs in Newberry County before moving to Elizabeth, NJ, thee he worked for Magnus Organ and Gibson's for a number of years.  In the early 70's he returned home to Prosperity, SC and worked various jobs until retirement.

Mr. Lindsay was predeceased by a sister, Mazie Lindsay, brother, William Pickney Lindsay and a special friend, Linda Glenn.

Surviving are sisters, Christine Lindsay of Elizabeth, NJ; Doretha Lindsay of Newberry, SC; Michelle Lindsay of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Willie Lindsay (Mary) of Columbia, SC; Ellis Lindsay of Denver, CO; Alvin Lindsay of Elizabeth, NJ, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
