Mr. Troy E. Suber was born in Pomaria, South Carolina to Cleve Suber and Lizzie Chick Suber. Among ten siblings, Troy held the position as the second youngest. On April 21, 2024, he transitioned into Eternal Rest.
Troy was a member of Upper Hope Station Baptist Church.
Troy was educated in Newberry County Schools at Gallman High School. Before his accident in 1982 that left him disabled, he worked in several different industries in the county. Troy was a skilled carpenter who could build anything visually. In 2016, God blessed him with another chance at life when he was blessed with a kidney transplant. Troy would remind everyone that he was the best at playing cards, shooting pool, playing baseball, and having the best grass cutting skills in the community. His love for family and his laughter will be remembered.
Troy was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Albert "Epps" Suber, Norman Suber and Ike Suber; one sister, Cleola Suber Headley.
On June 10, 1977, Troy Suber married the love of his life, Fannie T. Suber, with whom he shares a daughter, Kimberly L. Suber of Chapin, SC; grandchildren raised in their home, Khari T. Suber of Savannah, GA and Kyan M. Suber of Fort Johnson, LA, along with great-grandson, Kai Ashton Suber.
Troy is also survived by his daughters, Chakita Washington-Werts (H. Bernard) and Tisha Abrams-Wise (Tyronne); son, Christopher Abrams (Jackie); grandchildren, Z. Timain Washington, Isis Werts, Bernard, D. Werts, Amir Abrams, Asia Abrans, Tymone Abrams, Terrance Abrams and Kimora Abrams; great-grandchildren, Ay’denn Abrams and Ari Abrams.
Additionally, Troy is survived by brothers, Talton Maybin of Newberry, SC and Sam Suber of Pomaria, SC. His surviving sisters, Cora Garmany and Lizzie Vernell Suber both of Pomaria, SC and Patricia Matthews (Willie) of Greenwood, SC; mother-in-law, Daisy M. Thompson; sisters-in-law, Sherri A. Thompson, Beverly Thompson, Marguerite (Step) Glasgow, Lizzie Suber and Barbara Suber; brothers-in-law, Willie Lee Thompson and Charlie James (Lowanna) Thompson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special godsons, Terrell Jackson (Tiffany) whose children are, Emaile, Maya and Madison Jackson of Huntersville, NC and Brad Whitney of Columbia, SC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Upper Hope Station Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
