William Bluford Brown

Funeral services for Reverend William Bluford Brown, age 76, will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Miller Chapel AME Church.  Burial with military honors will follow in Werts Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Reverend Brown passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Reverend William M. Brown, Jr. and the late Gertrude Butler Brown.  He was a member of Miller Chapel AME Church where he was a member of the Male Chorus.  He was also a member of Sons of Aid Lodge #57, Past Worthy Patron of New Jerusalem #58 Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion.  Reverend Brown served in the United States Army.

He was predeceased by a sister, Vivianne P. Brown.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Bennie Mae Porter Brown; sons, William Demond Brown (Shaquanna) of Buffalo, SC; Jamel A'Lan Brown (Jessica) of Columbia, SC; sister, Theodora L. Henry (Guy, Sr.) of Newberry, SC; mother-in-law, Maxine Porter of Waycross, GA; four grandchildren, two aunts, four sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
