Wilbur Calvin Hunter, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Wilbur Calvin Hunter, Jr., age 73, will be conducted on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hunter passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at White Oak Manor, Newberry, SC.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Wilbur C. Hunter, Sr. and the late Ruth Kinard Hunter.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Sons of Aid.  Mr. Hunter was a graduate of Gallman High School.  He retired from Southwest Forest and was employed with Buddy's.

Mr. Hunter was predeceased by the mother of his children Laura Ann Hunter, son, Gerald L. Hunter; brothers, Willie Robert Brice, Gonzer Lee Hunter and Freddie E. Hunter.

Surviving are daughters, Ruth Hunter Wheeler and Roxanne Hunter Good (Berry) all of Newberry, SC; sons, Rodney C. Hunter of Columbia, SC; Gregory S. Hunter and Andre' Hunter; sister, Willie Mae Suber (James) all of Newberry, SC; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one aunt, special nephew, Lawrence Suber; father-in-law, Henry Jones; devoted friend, Shankar "Sunny" Singh; two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
