Wade Hopkins, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Wade Hopkins, Jr., age 84, will be conducted on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Gethsemane Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hopkins passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Fairfield County, he was the son of the late Wade Hopkins, Sr. and the late Clara Feaster Hopkins.  He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, an Usher and Choir member.  He was also the Lead Singer with the Moving Stars of Whitmire, SC.

Mr. Hopkins was predeceased by his wife, Eula Mae Dawkins Hopkins.

Surviving are his daughter, Sheila "Connie" Walker of Newberry, SC; brothers, J. W. Hopkins (Carol) of Winnsboro, SC; Cleon Hopkins of Ridgeway, SC; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, devoted nephew, Ted Dawkins (Angie); God-son, Derrius Dawkins, special friend, Sara Edison, best friend, Sonny Hodges, two sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, Lonnie Dawkins (Paula); other relatives and friends.
