Ulysses Dawkins

Memorial services for Mr. Ulysses "Chat" Dawkins, age 73, will be conducted on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. 

Mr. Dawkins passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Eugene Dawkins and the late Elaine Jones Dawkins.  He was a member of  the South Newberry Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.  He was educated in the public schools of Newberry County and a former employee of American Fiber & Finishing, Inc.

Mr. Dawkins was predeceased by a sister, Marie Dawkins, step-daughter, Tammy Ruff.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel Jacobs Dawkins; daughters, Cynthia (Parris) Terrell, Springfield, IL, Aundrea Michelle (Rickey) Kinard, Newberry, SC, Yolanda (Antonio) Sims, Charlotte, NC; sons, Efrem (Clara) Dawkins, Newberry, SC,  Cecil Dawkins, Springfield, IL, step-sons, DuGarri (Angie) Caldwell, Greenwood, SC, Naquinn Caldwell, Newberry, SC; sisters, Bernice Dawkins, Diane (James) Swaney, Newberry, SC, Lola Jeter, Carlisle, SC, Sylvia Mosley, Newberry, SC; brothers, Allen (Molly) Dawkins, Silverstreet, SC, Terry (Josephine) Dawkins, Newberry, SC, Erza (Misty) Dawkins, Abbeville, SC; fifteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
