Robert Lee Ruff, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee Ruff, Jr., age 66, known by "Mutt" to family and friends, will be conducted on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Ruff passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at his home.  He was the son of the late Robert L. Ruff, Sr. and the late Jennie Ruff Swittenburg.  He was a graduate of Gallman High School Class of 1969 and was listed in Who's Who.  Mr. Ruff was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of Sons of Aid Lodge #57.

He worked several years at Whitaker Floor Covering installing carpet and hard wood floors.  He traveled with Robert Sligh to Maryland and different areas remodeling homes.

Mr. Ruff loved to play baseball and basketball. He played through high school and then Bush League for Newberry Red Machine and The Jook Cats.  He loved to sing especially Tyrone Davis and Al Green, winning many Talent Show awards.

Surviving are two sons, Dwain Elkins. (Ojetta) and Kingsley Cromer; one daughter, Robin Ruff; three sisters, Kay Ann Hardrick of Columbia, SC; Vivian Williams and Reverend Jacqueline R. Sims (Lyndell) of Newberry, SC; one uncle, Ernest Clark of Newberry, SC; two aunts, Catherine Gray of Prosperity, SC; Geneva Sims of Cincinnati, OH; nine grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
