Richard Thomas Gilliam

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Thomas "Dickie Boy" Gilliam, age 67, will be conducted on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gilliam passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at his home.  Born in Newberry, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Millie Gilliam Hailstock.  He retired from Homeland Security and was a Vietnam veteran.  Mr. Gilliam was a graduate of Gallman High School and attended the University of Maryland.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy A. Garmany Gilliam; daughter, Sabrina G. Ryland (Freeman) of St. Louis, MO; son, Demarco L. Gilliam of Newberry, SC; sisters, Lucy V. Hailstock of Greenville, SC; Charlene C. Hailstock of Lexington, SC; three grandchildren including Sheraton Abney reared in the home; two great-grandchildren, one aunt, one uncle, mother-in-law, Dora Garmany; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
