Rheta (Brown) Clark

Home-going services for Mrs. Rheta Brown Clark, age 70, will be conducted on Wednesday, May 20^th at 2 p.m. at Welch Zion Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Clark was born March 25, 1945 in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Willie “Will’ Brown and the late Elizabeth “INA” Longshore Brown. She entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, May 14^th 2015 at Palmetto Richland Hospital surrounded by her children. 

Mrs. Clark was a 1963 graduate of Gallman High School. She was a former employee of Boy’s Farm Home for Adolescent Youth as a House Parent prior to her declining health and retirement.

Mrs. Clark was predeceased by her husband, Willie James “J-Bird” Clark, and son, Ulysses Maceo “Pee” Brown;

Cherishing her memories are her children:  Willie M. Brown (Sharon) of Saluda, S.C., Lewis Cecil Brown (Teresa) of Prosperity, S.C. , Shelia Darlene Brown of Newberry, S.C. , Stanley M. Brown of Mauldin, S.C., Willis J. Clark (Bridget) of Newberry, S.C. and Cedric D. Clark (Keisha) of Prosperity, S.C; one uncle, Matthew Brown Sr. of Newberry, S.C.;  sister- in- law, Mary L.  Smith of Columbia, S.C. , brothers- in law, George E. Clark (Susan), Cleophus Clark Jr. all of Newberry and Bobby Clark (Vivian) of Little Mountain, S.C.; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several devoted cousins, The Johnson and Wilson Families of Alexandria, VA and other loving relatives and friends; two devoted friends, Berneatha Harp and Janet Glenn of Newberry, S.C.
