Funeral services for Mrs. Ophelia Boyd Jackson, age 97, will be conducted on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Pine Grove AME Church in Peak, SC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Jackson passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at White Oak Manor.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Boyd and the late Sallie Smith Boyd.  Mrs. Jackson was a member of Pine Grove AME Church where she was the Mother of the Church and a Prayer Warrior.  She was also a member of Women's Home Aide Society #2.

Mrs. Jackson was predeceased by her husband the Reverend Robert L. Jackson, Sr.; sons, James Morris Jackson and David Earl Jackson; daughters, Josephyne J. Fox and Rosa J. McConnell, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Surviving are daughters, Gladys J. Wicker of Norristown, PA; Janie J. Brown of Columbia, SC; Barbara J. (Jimmie) Lakin of Eastover, SC; Jessie J. (John) Reeder of Newberry, SC; Mary J. (Robert) Russell of Springfield, MA; Vashtie J. (Ronnie) Cannon of Newberry, SC; sons, Robert L. (Sadie) Jackson, Jr. and Raymond L. (Martha) Jackson all of Atlanta, GA; brother, Calvin Boyd of Lexington, SC; 41 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Barbara W. Jackson of Norristown, PA; Lori Jackson of Raleigh, NC; other relatives and friends.

The family will be at the home of John and Jessie Reeder, 501 Giff Street, Newberry, SC.
