Funeral services for Mrs. Marionette Shelton Harp, age 55,  will be conducted on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The sun rose on October 26, 1962, and Josephine and R.C. Shelton were blessed with a beautiful daughter. This precious one was given the name “Marionette.” She had a glow that surrounded her and a personality that captured the hearts of those who knew her.

She attended Speers Street Elementary, Gallman, and graduated from Newberry High School in 1980. She also graduated from Flight Attendant Training School in Miami, Florida. She settled on a career with Walmart Distribution Center in Laurens, SC, for twenty-nine years.

Growing up in a Christian home she accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and was faithful to God, She was so loving, giving, kind, compassionate and always willing to help someone or tell someone about Jesus. Marionette had a heart of gold.

Marionette met the love of her life, Milton Harp, II, and became his lovely wife for over sixteen years. This union was blessed with three wonderful children.

Marionette lived such a beautiful life and her sunset of life came on December 6, 2017. Her transition from this life to her eternal life with the Lord leaves us only imagining and looking forward to one day experiencing what she is now experiencing in the presence of the Lord.

Marionette was predeceased by her father, R.C. Shelton.

She leaves to cherish memories, a loving and devoted husband, Milton; her sweet and adorable children, Kira, Ashlyn, and Joshua; her dedicated mother, Josephine; her mother-in-law, Berneatha; brother, Ronnie (Marian); sisters, Jacqueline (Nick) and Sharon (Sammy); uncles, Rev. Willis Kinard (Delores), Jim Shelton (Stephanie) and Anthony Kinard (Betty); aunts, Mary Caldwell (Randy), Shirley Kinard, Ida Werts, Brunell Glenn, Lillie Mae Sheppard and Catherine Harp; nieces, Tiffani, Kayla, Kristen, Khiana, Hailey and Skylar; nephews, Damien, Kurt, Dale and Joey; six great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and sorrowing friends.
