Marie Reeder Howard

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Reeder Howard, age 84, will be conducted on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Bush River Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6-7 on Friday evening at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Howard passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Springfield Place at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Reeder and the late Hattie Lou Martin Reeder.  She was a faithful member of Bush River Missionary Church where she was a member of the Usher Board, Senior Choir, Missionary and Sunday School teacher.  Mrs. Howard was also President of Women's Home Aide Society #18, a member of Golden Ministry, Eastern Star Reeder-Glenn Chapter  #460 and ZETA PHI BETA Sorority.  Mrs. Howard was a graduate of Drayton Street High School and Benedict College.  She retired from New York City Department of Social Services.

Mrs. Howard was predeceased by her husband, John Howard; son-in-law, Keith McMorris.

Surviving are her daughters, Constance McMorris of Newberry, SC; Valerie Moore (Levirt) of Florissant, MO; son, John Harrison Howard (Yolanda) of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren, Chelsea Adriana McMorris, Lonette Amika McMorris, Marcus Terrell McMorris; Amanda Patrice Moore, Levirt C. Moore, III and Jamilya Williams; three sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
