Mae Frances Sligh

Funeral services for Ms. Mae Frances Sligh, age 81, will be conducted on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Belmont Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery.

Ms. Sligh passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Putsy Sligh and the late Annie Louise Mayes Sligh.  She was a former member of New Beginnings Apostolic Faith and currently a member New Vision Ministries.  She was employed with Little Folks Daycare for 30 years.  She was educated in Newberry Public Schools.

Ms. Sligh was predeceased by seven brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are her devoted daughter, Emma Lee (Eddie) Eigner; five grandchildren, Tony (Audrey) Eigner, Shelia Eigner, Joseph Eigner, Iris (Wilbur) McNeil and Precious Sligh; five great-grandchildren, four nieces, Verna "Ann" Robinson, Lois Sligh-Williams, Betty Jean Sligh and Lizzie "Addie Mae" Guyton; five nephews, John Willie Sligh, Sr. (Mary), Willie Lee Sligh, Robert Gallman (Dixie), Eugene Gallman and Monroe Sligh; a host of great- nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other family members whom she loved dearly.
