Lucy Verneal Hailstock

Memorial services for Ms. Lucy Verneal Hailstock, age 65, will be conducted on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Hailstock passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Hailstock and the late Millie Gilliam Hailstock. 

She grew up in Washington, DC and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.  In 1990, she moved back to Newberry, SC.  She worked for NRSA in Washington, DC, Com Data in Newberry, SC and retired from International Paper.

Ms. Hailstock was predeceased by sisters, Debra Hailstock-Johnson and Beverly Gilliam-Bakkar; brother, Richard T. Gilliam and special friend, Anthony Henderson.

Surviving are her daughter, Stephanie Hailstock of Greenville, SC; grandsons, Darius Hailstock, Damarius Carter and Christian Gary; sister, Charlene C. Hailstock of Newberry, SC; sister-in-law, Dorothy A. Garmany Gilliam of Pomaria, SC; special nephew, Karl J. Williams, family friend, Claude Gary; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
