Johnnie Calvin Glymph, Sr.

Funeral services for Deacon. Johnnie Calvin "JC" Glymph, Sr., will be conducted on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Viewing will be on Saturday from 4-6 at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Glymph departed his earthy home to join his Heavenly father on Thursday, February 26, 2015.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Bosie and Sallie Cooper Glymph.  He was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Usher board, Deacon board, Senior Choir and  Sunday School Superintendent.  He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #34 and AP & B Society.  Mr. Glymph served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was employed as a truck driver for 55 years.

Mr. Glymph was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Bates Glymph.

Surviving are his four children, Linda (James) Boyd of Newberry, SC; Johnny (Diann) Glymph of Columbia, SC; Cathy (Leo) Maybin of Kinards, SC; Michael (Doretha) Glymph of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren, Brandon and Bryan Boyd; Johnny Glymph, III, Tiffany (Jimmy) Horton, Latrecia Adams, Dr. Shanora (Darrell) Brown, Diquan Maybin, Lauwana Glymph, Michael, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, a host of loving nieces, nephews, devoted cousins, other relatives and caring friends.
