Johnnie Brown

Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Brown, age 68, will be conducted on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Lower Mt. Olive AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brown passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Palmetto Richland Hospital.  Born in Prosperity, South Carolina, he was the son of the late R. C. Brown and the late Carrie Kibler Brown and step--mother, the late Mattie Boyd Brown.  He was a member of Lower Mt. Olive AME Church.

Mr. Brown was a 1966 graduate of Gallman High School.  He loved fishing and sports.  He was a quiet, loving and compassionate man.  His gentle smile and great personality will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Mr. Brown was predeceased by a daughter, April Summers; brothers, L. C. Brown, Frankie Brown, Odell Boyd, Rev. Brady Boyd and Jasper Leroy Boyd.

Surviving are his daughter, Sonia S. Long (Reginald); devoted companion, Helen Summers; grandchildren, Jaleesa (Anthony, Jr.), Denisha, Caleb and Kayla; great-grand child, Brianna all of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters, Geneva Counts of Prosperity, SC; Rosa Burton and Verdia Wise of Newberry, SC; two brothers, Thomas L. Boyd and Murriel Boyd, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Furman Counts and Ellis Wise; five sisters-in-law, Geraldine Brown, Mamie Boyd, Thelma Boyd, Annie B. Boyd and Narvis Boyd; three aunts, Allean Glasgow of Prosperity, SC; Lula M. Brown of Charlotte, NC; Trocell Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend including a life time friend, J. C. Sundley.
