Johnie Lewis Burton

Funeral services for Mr. Johnie Lewis Burton, age 87, will be conducted Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Burton passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.  Born in Little Mountain, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Isaiah Burton and the late Addie Dominick Burton.  He was a former member of Hannah AME Church and a member of Sons of Aid Lodge #48. Mr. Burton  retired from Eagle Construction after 50 years of employment.

Mr. Burton was predeceased by his wife, Addie Bee Wheeler Burton; a son, Elbert Burton and grandson, Dyshawn Clark.

Surviving are his children, Evelyn Burton of Prosperity, SC; Fannie Burton Cromer (Willie) of Laurens, SC; Laverne Clark of Little Mountain, SC; Lillie Mae Burton of Prosperity, SC; Johnny Burton of Pickens, SC; Charles Burton of Prosperity, SC; reared as a son, Claude Wheeler of Pickens, SC; eleven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; devoted nieces, Rosa Tobe and Annie Pearl Boyd; one sister-in-law, Helen Summers; other relatives and friends.
