Jimmie Lee Ruff

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Lee Ruff, age 72, will be conducted on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Ruff passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Essie Wilson Ruff and the late Wilson Ruff, Sr.  He retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

Mr. Ruff was predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy Swittenburg, Wilson Ruff, Jr., Robert Ruff, Johnny Ruff and Raymond Ruff.

Surviving are his companion of 45 years Nancy Chaplin; children, Kasandra Chaplin and Nathaniel Chaplin of Newberry, SC; James Caldwell of Washington, DC; grandsons, Calvin Herbert and Natron Asheed Chaplin; great-granddaughter, Mahala Herbert all of Newberry, SC; sister-in-law, Estelle Graham Ruff of Newberry, SC; devoted friends, Clyde Brown and Anthony Byrd; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
