James Henry Lyles

Funeral services for Mr. James Henry "Yank" Lyles, age 72, will be conducted on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Miller Chapel AME Church.  Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Lyles passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late George Lyles, Sr. and the late Beulah Ruff Lyles.  He was a dedicated employee of Whitaker Floorings, Inc.

Mr. Lyles was predeceased by a sister, Lula Mae Lyles; brothers, Bobby Kelly, Tom Lyles, George Lyles and Charles Lyles.

Surviving are his companion, Sara Booker; daughter, Joy Kingsborough (Tony) of Joanna, SC; sisters, Annie Bell Boyd, Dorothy Davenport and Barbara Arrington; four grandchildren including two reared in the home, Dacian and Jazzmean Myers, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
