James Odell Fowler

Funeral services for Mr. James Odell Fowler, age 96, will be conducted on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, Kinards, SC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Fowler passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at his home.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Will Fowler and the late Vinie Rutherford Fowler.

Mr. Fowler retired from Fairfield Hospital in Dansbury, Connecticut.  After retirement he returned to Newberry.  He was a World War II United States Army veteran.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Bernice Atchison and Sarah Davis; two brothers, Raymond Fowler and George Fowler.

Surviving are his sister, Pauline Fowler of the home; eighteen nieces and nephews; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives; special friends/caregivers'  Virginia Gary and Willie Gary.
