James Willie Elkins, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. James Willie (Hotpatch) Elkins, Jr. will be conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church.  Viewing will be on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 12pm -8pm.  The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7pm-8pm.

Mr. Elkins passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late James Willie Elkins, Sr. and the late Bertha Chaplin Elkins.  He attended Fellowship Baptist Church.  He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Elkins was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Whit Chaplin, Sr. and Angie Titus Chaplin and son-in-law, Melvin Rhodes.

Surviving are his children, Dinah Summers Rhodes; Doris Gallman Harrison (Cedric); Genice Elkins Summers (Robert); Maisha Elkins; Kenneth B. Bates (Demetra); James Christopher Bates; James Tyrone Elkins (Lisa); Craig Douglas (Atia); seventeen grandchildren, two great grandchildren; special cousin, Mrs. Elizabeth Jeter; life-long friend Mrs.  Janie Lee Glymph; best-friend, Eugene "Shine" Ruff, and a host of cousins, close friends and loved ones to cherish his memory.
