Hendeson Sims Hawkins

Funeral services for Mr. Henderson Sims Hawkins, age 76, will be conducted on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery.

Mr. Hawkins passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late W. C. Hawkins and the late Bruth Neater Wise Hawkins.  He was a member of Son of Aid Lodge #54.

Mr. Hawkins was predeceased by a sister, Brucie Lee Hawkins, brother, Lennie Bruce Hawkins.

Surviving are his wife, Jessie Wise Hawkins; step-daughters, Rosa Mae Wise, Dottie Wise, Mattie Mae Davenport and Becky Davenport; step-sons, Andrew Wise and J. C. Davenport allof Prosperity, SC; sisters, Elaine Hawkins Maybin (Talton) of Newberry, SC; Janice H. McCain (James) of Westville, SC; Virginia Hawkins of Washington, SC; Bertha Gallman of Columbia, SC; Clover Gallman of Newberry, SC; one uncle, one sister-in-law, six brothers-in-law, devoted niece, Coretta Davenport (Moses Boyd)  of Newberry, SC; devoted friend, Peter Suber of Newberry, SC; thirteen adopted granddaughter including Hydeyeia Wise reared in the home;  nine great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Elaine Hawkins Maybin, 1610 Indian Land Apts., Newberry, SC.
