Gerorge R Hill

Funeral services for Mr. George Raymond Hill will be conducted on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Boozer Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Hill passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at his home.  Born in Newberry, South Carolina, he was the son of the late John Earl Hill and the late Janie Caldwell Yokley.  Mr. Hill was a devoted member of Boozer Chapel Baptist Church where he served in various ministries to include: Deacon Board, Senior Choir, Sunday School teacher and Men of Faith.  He was a self employed carpenter, plumber, mechanic and his family's "Our Mr. Fix-it."

Mr. Hill was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Cannon and Pansy Rose Lanier; brother, Herbert Cannon; mother-in-law, Victoria Hall Nelson; father-in-law, Benjamin Nelson.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Nelson Hill; daughters, Janet Hill of Columbia, SC; Jacqueline Hill Smith (Richard) of Newberry, SC; son, John Arthur Hill of Newberry, SC; sister, Hixsey Burton of Newberry, SC; brothers, John Earl Lanier (Debra); Kenneth Ray Lanier (Michelle) of Lexington, NC; Talton Maybin, Gerald  and Pete Sims all of Newberry, SC; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, devoted friend, Sim Price; nine sisters-in-law, eight brothers-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends.
