I know Ms. Verta Mae will be missed in the home and in ALL of your lives. She and Mom were the same age and they both were friends. Both families grew in the Mt. Moriah AME Church community together. Our families go back at least four generations because my great grand father and mother (will and Bess) knew the Dewalt and Hair families. Now WE are another generation! Angie (granddaughter), Queen, Daisy, and Chris I cherished Ms Verta Mae because she was Mom's friend. I do not regret not visiting her in her final days because I wanted to remember the last time I saw her at Mt. Moriah. She said, "I remember you, your Eula's baby, Elmira".
