Eugene Harp

Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Harp will be conducted on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Perry Funeral Home, 34 Mercer Street, Newark, NJ.  and a memorial service will also be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Harp passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Abraham Harp, Sr. and the late Laura Ann Miller Harp.  He was a graduate of Gallman High School.         After graduation he moved to Newark, NJ and there he was inducted into the U. S. Army, serving in Vietnam.

Mr. Harp was predeceased by brothers, Abraham, Jr., Nathaniel, Daniel, Milton, Raymond and Joy.

Surviving are two sons, Willie Brown (Sharon) of Saluda, SC; Stanley Brown of Greenville, SC; three daughters, Tarsha Harp of Newark, NJ; Kizzy Alston-Wright of Newark, Delaware; Daniette Wheeler of Newberry, SC; one sister, Lillie Mae Sheppard of Newberry, SC; Rev. Michael Harp of Newberry, SC; three sisters-in-law, Jacqueline S. Harp, Andrienna Harp and Berneatha Harp all of Newberry, SC; five grandchildren, four aunts, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
